Even though Bill and Melinda Gates have admitted that their education initiatives haven’t worked, states haven’t changed course. Most states have simply renamed the standards, hired new testing companies, poured money into overpriced consultants and implemented stringent and taxing teacher evaluations, none of which have worked. When will we learn and make changes? There is absolutely zero stability in education these days for educators, parents, or students. And as unhappy or frustrated as parents may be with school systems nationwide, I can assure you that there will be a whole lot more people upset when we have no more teachers to teach our children. It’s time for change!
