The State Board of Education has asked Governor Phil Bryant to declare a state of emergency for the 2nd largest school district in our state, JPS, and they already have a person ready to takeover as interim superintendent. Will the new interim superintendent be capable of turning the district around or is she no better than who they have in place now? Time will tell. I just hope school districts across the state pay very close attention here because many of them are in violation of the very same things that JPS has done wrong. The only difference is that parents, educators, district employees and concerned citizens stood together in Jackson. Isn’t it amazing how things happen when people stand together?!
