There was a considerable amount of debate this year in our state legislature over funding for our roads and bridges. Where does MS stand on funding for infrastructure? If you would like to hear more about this issue or would like to learn more about Americans for Prosperity in Mississippi, register to attend their August Growth Forum, hosted by AFP and Russ Latino. The event has great speakers lined up and ready to discuss important issues. Make plans to attend if you can.
Also as part of the forum, there will be an education panel discussing school choice for our state and country. Here is some information from Empower MS’s Grant Callen:
Americans For Prosperity Mississippi will be holding their second annual Mississippi Growth Forum next week and I hope you can attend!
They have a great event planned featuring a keynote from Dr. Steve Perry. You may not recognize his name right now, but you will love Dr. Perry’s passion and energy for ensuring every child has access to a high quality education.
In fact, I encourage you to watch Dr. Perry’s speech to the American Legislative Exchange Council last year where he outlined his ideas on how we can bridge the political divide in advancing universal school choice. I am certain he will deliver another great speech that can inspire each of us.
I am also honored to be participating in the panel discussion, “Ensuring All Students Have Educational Opportunity In Mississippi.” Matt Ladner, with the Charles Koch Institute, and a leading voice in the school choice movement nationwide, will lead the panel discussion that includes Senate Education Committee Chairman Gray Tollison, Representative Brad Touchstone, and myself.
The event will be held at the Embassy Suites in Ridgeland on August 26.
