Here we go, folks! Today, I am sharing an article from The Clarion Ledger in Mississippi about one of our most ‘attention grabbing’ bills in the headlines now. Before you rush to judgment on this one, I am willing to bet that a lot more people than you think are glad this bill is still alive in the legislature. So what is it? The headlines are calling it the revenge porn bill.

In today’s world of the Internet, social media, cell phones with cameras, security cameras and web cams that are virtually everywhere, individuals can be caught on camera in some quite ‘provocative’ interactions and situations. The bill discussed in the article below and authored by Senator Sally Doty (R) aims to make it a crime to display a nude image of anyone without their permission. The bill establishes the particulars for lawsuits and states that as person found guilty of a violation can be fined up to $4,000, jailed for up to one year or both. And before you even threaten to disclose a nude picture of someone, be aware that this bill covers that too.

Jilted lovers and spouses, attention seeking individuals or others with pictures that you could use to hold over someone’s head, think again! Read this bill and share your thoughts!
