Since 2000, the state of Mississippi has had a law in place that requires drivers to carry liability insurance for their vehicle. As with many laws that exist, it seems that this one has not been strongly enforced, but that could change.
House Bill 319 was authored by Rep. Patricia Willis. It would require people to show proof of liability insurance before renewing an auto tag. No insurance = No tag!
