In a new twist by Uselton, the process of choosing a top teacher will take an added step. In addition to naming an overall winner, he’s naming the winning teacher from each school to an advisory council that will work with him to improve communication between teachers and the district office in Hernando.
“Teachers at every school will have someone they can take concerns to,” Uselton said. “That teacher, in turn, will have a voice with the superintendent. We want to know what we can do in the central office to help the teachers do their jobs better.”
It’s just one small change, but an indication that there’s a new sheriff in town.
