Sen. Chris Massey of Nesbit, who represents DeSoto County’s Senate District 1, will head the Ethics Committee, which deals with questions of ethics in government and public office. Sen. David Parker of Olive Branch, who represents District 2, will serve as chairman of the Veterans and Military Affairs Committee, overseeing issues related to Mississippi’s National Guard, veterans and other military-related matters.

Both senators are Republicans, as is Reeves.

In addition to their chairmanships, each DeSoto senator also will serve as committee co-chairs: Massey on the Housing Committee, and Parker on the Local and Private Committee.
