Our schools are the foundation of our communities, and I believe that it is extremely important for citizens, parents, city leaders, the business community and elected officials to be involved with our students and teachers on a personal level. With that being said, I so appreciate all of the people that volunteered today at Olive Branch Intermediate School.
We had an awesome group of parents and PTA members to help with the Spotlight Haunted House. It was a big success!!! We had another group of volunteers that donated to the Trunk or Treat Event, helped pass out treats and played games with the kids. Many thanks to OB Mayor Scott Phillips, School Board Member Milton Nichols, Superintendent Elect Cory Uselton, Amanda Uselton, the OBPD, House Rep Elect Dana Criswell, OBIS PTA President Mr. Alexander, two precious OBHS students and other parents that volunteered to help with this event today! I know that it all meant a lot to the teachers and students. Thank you all for helping today! And thank you to all of our teachers and staff that take such great care of our kids and still found time to help today! You all are awesome!
Olive Branch Intermediate School is a hidden jewel in our community, and I hope they know that we care about them. We should never forget to let our educators know how important they are to us. We may not always agree when it comes to politics or business, but we can all agree that our students, educators and schools are vital to our county. We need to take more time to develop personal relationships with those that work in our schools and with the kids that attend. I think we succeeded today in accomplishing that goal!
Happy Halloween to everyone and may you all be safe this weekend!!!
